Rising Up

IMG_2106The Wizard of Oz is one of my favorite movies.  I could watch it every day and twice on Sundays.  There’s just a lot of symbolism in it, and of course, it’s a great movies for the innocents.

There’s a belief that there’s no place like home…home is safe…home is the hearth of creativity and healing, of patriotism and honor.

Well, just as the Wizard of Oz is fantasy, it would seem that the belief that there’s no place like home could be a fantasy too.  Anyone who has been witness to the goings-on in our beautiful America (my home), would not disagree.  There is no little man behind the curtain to hand out a heart, or a brain, or courage.

We are being beckoned by something greater than ourselves to rise up, to wake up from our dream state and to witness the heralding of a newer, bolder, wiser, more loving, more courageous beingness.  No, I don’t mean more tolerant — that hasn’t worked, has it?  No, I don’t mean more compassionate, we are already inherently compassionate beings.

I mean being in the place of spirit where Love, Truth and Life become the design and control of who we are.  We are the expression of God in action.  We are Human, but we are also Being.

Because of our humanness, we can be fooled once.  But because of our Beingness, we now know that the ruse is up and we got game. America is my home. And there is no place like America. She needs us now.  You in?

When you make the decision, there’s no need to click those ruby red slippers to know that you’re home.  You know it by every breath you take.

Vertical Reality

2017-10-25 11.42.01

Vertical reality vs. horizontal reality:  Vertical reality is looking up, aligning oneself with the things of Spirit as opposed to looking straight ahead or looking down and aligning oneself with the ways of the world.

The body, the heart and the mind are our capacities from which Life, Love and Truth are expressed.  So many in the world today are fooled into thinking the capacities ARE the expression.  Don’t be fooled.

Know the difference.  Live it.  Express it.  You can’t be a beacon if your light don’t shine.  Be the light from which others can find their way.

Way Down Deep

My latest accomplishment has been to receive my certification as a Chakradance™ Facilitator.  I cannot express fully enough in words how grateful I am to have had this movement practice for the soul come into my life.  It was quite synchronistic that I found it actually.  I had noticed it several times on my Facebook newsfeed.  I’ve been facilitating meditation classes for quite some time and on most occasions go through the chakras.  When I taught Yoga back along the way, chakras were very much a part of my teaching.  I’ve been teaching Nia for 15 years and movement of the 3 body weights in Nia (the pelvis, chest and head) activate and open the 7 chakras.

I’ve been wanting to expand the offerings at Sacred Space Studio so when I logged on to my email one morning back in April, there was a message from “Jenny” of Chakradance™ letting me know that this day was the last day to register for the Facilitator training at a reduced cost.  All sorts of thoughts when through my head about not having the time or not being sure if this was exactly what I was looking for, yadda yadda yadda.  You know the drill.  But my intuition was much more open and willing than my mind, so I went for it.  And W.O.W. am I ever delighted that I followed my intuition.

The feedback I’ve received from the several one hour and 15 minutes classes I’ve taught has been encouraging and enlightening.  I finished my first of seven Workshops this past Sunday — starting with the Base Chakra — and the feedback from this workshop confirmed even further that I had made the right choice.

Spontaneous dance, specific music, creative visualizations and imagery, along with the wonderful Mandala-creating exercise contained in the classes and the workshops invites the participants to go way down deep.  It’s transformational.  It’s healing.  It’s truly a movement practice for the soul.

It is my pleasure to be offering Nia classes, Reiki classes and therapy sessions, Chakradance™ classes and workshops, Tarot readings and meditation classes at Sacred Space Studio.  If you find yourself compelled toward any of these offerings, please feel free to contact me.  You can find my contact information on the “About” page.

The Irresistible Force

If Not Now, When

The words “Stay identified with the irresistible force” were in my dreams last night…all night.

What is the irresistible force?  Spirit in Action.  Love in Action.  Integrity in Action.

The Irresistible Force is the total opposite of what is being portrayed in the world today with all of the violence and killing.  Humanity at its worst.  If you have nothing else with which to identify then it’s very easy to get caught up in this chaos and destruction.

There is a choice to be made.  Stay identified with the Irresistible Force or find yourself  dealing with the consequences of not doing so.

The world’s ways are not my ways.  Rise up my love, my fair one and come away.

The Spaces Between

Nia brochure pic

I just celebrated my 15th year of teaching Nia!  I’m in the 4th week of Chakradance™ training!  I’m continuing my Tarot Tuesday classes which are so much fun and so insightful!  I’m opening up shop for one-on-one Tarot readings!  I have an abundant Reiki practice!  I’m also the co-owner and bookkeeper for The Nutman Co. USA, Inc., the Really Cool Gift Shop, Java Dancer Coffee Bar and Sacred Space Studio.

But my full time job is living life to my highest vision…being in place to receive what life has to offer — opportunities and challenges that I meet head on and with an open heart.  Focused living.  Focused radiation of love into the world.

I like to set a focus in my mind’s eye for each day after awakening (and after a cup of coffee!).  I didn’t used to do this, but after 15 years of teaching Nia it’s a welcome habit that I enjoy.

Setting a focus before each Nia class is merely one of the things that sets apart this fabulous cardio fitness lifestyle practice from any other on the face of the earth. My focus for this past Saturday’s morning class was “The Spaces Between.”  This could relate to a good many things in life, but I narrowed it down to the spaces between our thoughts and our actions.  There is a SPLIT SECOND between a thought and the choice that follows — to act or not act — and what type of action if that is the choice.

And once an action has been taken there is the need to accept the consequences. There don’t seem to be many consequences in the human world these days with actions taken that cause harm.

There is always the Universe to which we are all accountable.  My mom used to say “what goes around comes around.”  I believe this to be true.

So those spaces between our thoughts and our actions are profoundly important.

I enjoy living and learning.  How about you?

Tarot Tuesday

universe

I had this brainiac idea two years ago to combine my love for Nia and my love for Tarot.  Alas, it was not to be until 2016.

My own Tarot guru (www.thetarotlady.com) did an Entrepreneurcast in 2015 for me. The words I took from her beautiful work for 2015:  Dream, Create, Study, Learn, Inquire and Prepare.

My previous blog post alluded to my tapping into tarot by using a tarot card for each Nia class…well, the Universe had a different plan based on my Entrepreneurcast and my decision to do something more in-depth with Tarot and Nia!  Voila’!!  Tarot Tuesday was born.

Here’s how it goes:  One of my students gives me a question.  I do a tarot reading and then sit with it a bit and the final step before taking it to class is to find music to go with the reading….I call it “dancing the cards.”  The actual reading takes about 15-20 minutes at the beginning of class.  We all gather around enlarged paper copies of the Celtic Cross tarot layout. I do the reading.  In the moment feedback is encouraged and welcomed.  Then I pick up the cards and we dance.

To date, Tarot Tuesday has been well-received and well-attended!!  SUCCESS!!  It was foreseen that this would be the result…a lot of hard work, studying learning, inquiring of the cards and preparing the classes has been absolutely AWESOME.

In case you’re wondering, I use the Chyrsalis tarot deck. It’s a non-traditional tarot deck. It drew me in and speaks quite clearly to me and through me.

Combining Nia and Tarot, my two passions for creative inspiration and expression is nothing less than perfect…I made a decision and the Universe conspired to make it happen.  Not in my time, but in spirit’s.

I am blessed to have a Nia community with open mind and open hearts.  They are all my heroes.

Nia and Tarot

It is what it isSo you might ask what Tarot and Nia have to do with one another.  They are more similar than different actually.  They both move me deeply.  I am guided by spirit when reading Tarot or when dancing Nia. Both require listening to my intuition and sensing in all the realms — physical, emotional, mental and spirit.

My plan is to begin using one Tarot card to guide me in setting the focus and the intent  for each day and if there is a Nia class that day, that same focus will apply to the class.

I’m really excited about how this journey will unfold.  It is What It Is and I’m Going with the Flow.

Rising Up

If Not Now, When

My husband and I have been having conversations about change, about rising up to the challenge of letting go of some pretty ingrained behaviors.  One thing that we’ve come to learn in this process is that letting go of subtle attachments is not easy.  It’s not easy because it’s not easy to identify subtle attachments until they’ve raised their ugly heads.

Testy responses, emotionally-charged reactions, tones of voice, eye-rolling,  listening but not hearing…

Those behaviors have to go.  My purpose on earth is to become fully and wholly ME — not the human form that is known as Jill; not the mind that thinks it knows a lot; not the emotional center that wants to always have its way — but ME (the I Am), fully present, in touch with my divine nature.  The body, mind and heart will always be incomplete and “in progress”. The I Am is perfect NOW, and to discover the I Am doesn’t involve going to the mountain top and focusing on my belly button, or sitting in Lotus position Om-ing til the cows come home.

I Am — a Human BEING.  No, I am not just human — that is merely my form.  What animates that form is BEING charged by spirit.

I love living life in the moment, with clarity and purpose, with conviction and compassion, expressing truth through an incomplete mind, love through an incomplete emotional realm and life through an incomplete body, offering forgiveness to myself and others and always, always, always knowing that gratitude needs to be for ALL things.  There is no picking and choosing.  Am I always 100% in this precious space?

Lots of laughs and eye rolling for sure.  It sure is rewarding being aware of subtle shifts creating HUGE changes.  High five to the husband and me for making it a dance.

It is What It Is, Baby!

It is what it is

I continue to be mystified by the addiction of the world at large of needing to categorize everything as “good or bad.” We spend more time than should ever be allowed on judging people, events, circumstances…even the weather…as good or bad. Living in the midwest has proven to be somewhat of an ordeal this winter (not that other places haven’t had their own ordeal with which to contend).  Complaining about the weather is commonplace this winter. Winter is “bad”.  Summer is “good”…unless of course it’s too hot and we forgot how “bad” the winter was and wish for it to be cold again.

One restaurant is bad, another is good. One political party is bad, another is good. One country is bad, another is good.

There is a way, a very simple way, to rid oneself of this addiction.  “Thankfulness in all things.”

If you’ve been following my blog, you know I teach Nia. I end each of my Nia classes with “Gratitude in ALL things, no picking or choosing, and Let Love Command.”  Every Nia class ends with these words.  My life and how I live it is based on the four words, “Thankfulness in all things”.

There’s just no sense in complaining about something over which we have no control.  What if it were ALWAYS winter?  Would life be one constant judgment of the weather being bad?  How absurd.

Be thankful for ALL things.  Being thankful automatically eliminates the addiction of labeling anything good or bad.  There’s a line from the movie, Army of Darkness — “Good, bad, who cares, I’m the guy with the gun.”

And my smoking’ gun is “thankfulness in all things.”  Good, bad, who cares?  It is what it is.
